Shannon McGarvey is a writer, senior producer, and storyteller with a passion for curating human-centered narratives across podcasts and rich media formats for major networks and brands.

Shannon is the writer and host of the investigative podcast “Yuba County Five” (Mopac Audio, 2022) and a co-writer and senior producer of the successful long-running true-crime series “LISK: Long Island Serial Killer” (Mopac Audio, 2020-2023).

Additionally, she produced “Edge of Reason” (Atlantic Re:think, 2023), a podcast partnership between The Atlantic and Hauser & Wirth Contemporary Art Gallery.

Currently, Shannon is developing a narrative podcast series that explores existential risk as an unlikely pathway to finding a deeper meaning, purpose, and activism.

Her work has been featured on the “Stuff You Should Know” podcast, WABC New York, and Pix 11 News NYC and covered by The New York Times, British GQ, PopSugar, Vogue, British Vogue, HuffPost, The New Yorker, Men’s Health, and more.

Shannon also has extensive experience as a TV and video producer for HBO Max, Dell, Travel Channel, Posit, TLC, Whole Foods, Discovery, and more.

As a journalist, Shannon's writing has been published in the Austin American-Statesman, Magnet Magazine, Whisky Advocate, San Antonio Current, Culture Map, and Digital Spy.

She earned an MLitt in Creative Writing from the University of Glasgow (2010) and a BA in English from Texas State University (2006).
